Current State of Environmental Education and Education for Sustainable Development in Primary and Secondary (K-12) Schools in Boyacá, Colombia

Environmental education (EE) trains individuals to preserve ecological balance and understand the link between humanity environmental protection. On other hand, for sustainable development (ESD) addresses social, cultural, political, quality of life factors, promotes evolution planet. In Colombia, EE is more recognized compared ESD, this situation relates objective research, investigate strategies applied in ESD official primary secondary (K-12) educational institutions department Boyacá. This study used a Likert scale survey with numerical values from 1 5 evaluate each category choice among targeted population. The results indicate that topics such as water resource conservation protection fauna flora are covered EE, while issues less prominent. findings research suggest interventions improve implementation contribute advancement country. It appropriate explore different methods integrate environmental, economic, social aspects contexts, updating curricula ESD.
